Restricted rearing methods for broiler breeders

Restricted feeding is to control the growth and development of breeders by artificially controlling the nutrient level, feed intake and feeding time of chickens, so that they can start production in a timely manner.

Restricted Rearing Methods Broiler Breeders

The specific methods are as follows:

1. Time limit method

The main purpose is to control the feed intake by controlling the feeding time of chickens, so as to achieve the goal of weight control and sexual maturity.

(1) Daily feeding limit: feed a certain amount of feed and drinking water every day, or specify the number of feedings and the time of each feeding. This method is less stressful for chickens.

(2) Limit feeding every other day: feed for 1 day and stop for 1 day. Feed the two-day limit on one day. This method is a better method of restricting feeding, it can reduce the impact of competing troughs, resulting in a more consistent group that meets the target weight.

Broiler breeding method

If the daily feed is consumed quickly, only the most dominant chickens will be fed and the rest will starve, resulting in inconsistent growth across the flock. Since a 2-day feed limit is given at one time, both domineering chickens and timid chickens have the opportunity to share the feed. For example, the daily feeding limit is 50 grams, and the feeding amount for two days is 100 grams. This 100 grams of feed is fed once on the feeding day, and the feed is cut off for the rest of the time.

(3) Feeding is limited to two days per week: that is, five days per week and two days off, usually on Sundays and Wednesdays. The feeding amount of the feeding day is to divide the amount of restricted feed in one week into 5 days to feed (that is, multiply the restricted amount of one day by 7 and divide it by 5).

2. The limited quality method

i.e. limiting the nutrient level of the feed. Generally, low energy, low protein or simultaneously reduce energy, protein content and even lysine content to limit the growth and development of chickens.

In the practical application of broiler breeders, the supply of energy and protein in the diet is limited at the same time, while other nutrients such as vitamins, macroelements and trace elements should be fully supplied to meet the growth of chickens and various organs. developmental needs.

3. Limit method

It regulates the daily, weekly or certain period of feed consumption for the flock. The supply of broiler breeders is generally calculated at 60% to 80% of the free feed intake.

Most breeding companies implement a comprehensive feed restriction program for broiler breeders, which is a combination of various feed restriction methods.

In production, the restricted feeding system should be selected according to the equipment conditions of the chicken house, the goals of breeding, and the advantages and disadvantages of various feeding restrictions, so as to prevent the occurrence of "within the limit of satisfying nutritional needs, the stricter the weight restriction, the better the production performance." one-sided understanding.
